Our Story
Twenty years of looking.
One kimono at a time.
Alberto Maccari spent two decades as a creative director across Europe — telling other people's stories. KIMOWI is his return to a slower craft: silk, hands, time.
Crafted in Florence — three hands, one kimono.
From silk to skin.
The silk
Premium Italian silk, sourced from Como's century-old weaving tradition. Where the thread becomes a memory.
The hands
Cut, sewn and finished by Florentine artisans — never industrial. Each kimono passes through one set of hands, not a factory.
The choice
Your pattern, your fit, your story. Co-created from the first stitch. The kimono becomes yours before it becomes itself.
"A kimono is a moment you wear. It should never feel rushed."Alberto Maccari · Founder
Numbered. Owned by you.
Each kimono is hand-finished, hand-numbered, and signed by the maker. Only twenty exist of every pattern — once they're made, the pattern retires.
We don't stock. We don't overproduce. We make exactly what is pre-ordered — and we make it well.
